Advantage Isithembiso, while Doornkop suffer defeat

Day 6 of the 31st edition of the Philly’s games round of 16 brought us 11 goals in total at the Etafuleni soccer ground in Ivory Park Tembisa.

Gwara-Gwara got a last-minute penalty as they played to a 2-2 draw against Boko Futhi FC. The game looked like it was going to end 2-1 until the referee pointed to the spot in the 90th minute after a Boko Futhi player was judged to have defended the ball with his arm from a free kick in the 18 area.

In another game between Jonet 015 FC up against Destroyers FC, both sides hit the post a couple of times, but Destroyers left it till late in the 2nd half of the 1st leg. At the end, they overcame the Limpopo side 1-0 with the 2nd leg to be played on Tuesday in Phomolong.

The 3rd game of the day saw Popular Doornkop students take on another Limpopo side Makgaola FC. A goal in each half from the Lephalale side was enough to secure a 1st leg victory at the end. Makagola were 2-0 victors with 90 more minutes of the 2nd leg left to play

In the day's final game, Phomolong side Isithembiso beat Phanda Phanda FC 3-1 and take a two-goal advantage into the 2nd leg on Tuesday.

The competition takes a break on Christmas day but will be back on Boxing day, with mouthwatering 2nd leg fixtures

Ama Bee takes on Izidla Mlilo at 10 while Bayekane FC play Rebels at midday. The 2pm kickoff will see Ambassadors take on Musa United and in the final game of the day, Mambas FC will be up against One Lion.
