Bahir Dar Ketema struck twice in the first half to beat Adama Ketema 2-0 in Addis Ababa Stadium to register their second win of the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League round 3 match.

Fitsum Alemu struck the opener with a brilliant shot from outside of the box five minutes into the game. Alemu should have doubled the lead minutes later when he found himself unmarked one on one with Adama Ketema's goalie Tarike Getnet.

The home side's pressure carried on and were almost rewarded with a goal when Girma Disasa's strike was cleared off the line by Desta Gichamo. Nonetheless, the visitors couldn't hold on to the repetitive attacks as they let through a second goal ten minutes before the halftime break when Baye Gezaghen headed home from the area.

Following the recess, Adama Ketema came close to narrowing down the deficit when Tafese Serka header was easily caught by goalkeeper Hariston Hessou. The Waves of Tana tried to extend their lead through efforts from Mikiyas Girma, Zenaw Ferede and Gezaghen, but all attempts were futile.

The decisive win takes head coach Fasil Tekalegn's charges to six points closer to the log leaders Ethiopian Coffee. Adama Ketema suffered their second straight loss under manager Asechalew Hailemikael.
