St George jumped to the top of the table Saturday with a 2-0 win over Shashemene City

Wolkite City and Hadiya Hossana played out a goalless draw in the day's other game at the Dire Dawa International Stadium.

Amanuel Erbo was the hero for St George as the Striker scored a brace to push the Horsemen to the zenith.

Shashemene City rode their luck in the first half, managing the keep the game goalless into the break.

They will defend resolutely for another 25 minutes in the second half until Amanuel Erbo broke the deadlock in the 70th minute to give St George a 1-0 lead.

Erbo completed his brace in the 86th minute to go 2-0 up, and it was enough to earn St George all three points.

The win takes St George to 37 points, one more than Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Mekelakeya both on 36 points in second and third.

All three teams have made this a three-horse title race in the past six weeks, and it is looking more and more like last season where it went to the wire.
