Ethiopia Coffee beat Hawassa City 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in Dire Dawa, even as Dire Dawa City came from behind to beat Fasil City 2-1

Mesfin Tafesse produced a brace to give Ethiopia Coffee a remarkable 2-0 first-half lead.

His first goal came as early as the fourth minute and the second on 34 minutes, and they were coasting.

Hawassa fought back in the second half, but it was Ethiopia Coffee who looked like increasing their tally with Tafesse close to a hat-trick.

However, Esreal Eshetu pulled one back for Hawassa late in the game, with his goal in the 83rd minute sparking a revival at 2-1.

Hawassa's relentless attack paid off in the second minute of added time when they equalised through Abdulbasit Kemal for 2-2.

There was still time as Hawassa chased a winner, but it was Ramkel Jemes who got on the end of a Coffee counterattack to score and earn Ethiopia Coffee a dramatic 3-2 win.

DIRE DAWA BEAT FASIL

Fasil got on the scoresheet early, with Mignot Debede's 13th-minute goal giving them a 1-0 lead which they took to halftime.

The second half was all Dire Dawa City, and they were rewarded with the equalizer on 73 minutes with Carlos Damtew on target for 1-1.

Ismael Abdul-Ganiyu scored the winning goal three minutes later to give Dire Dawa City a massive 2-1 win.
