Fasil look to extend leadership position, Jimma eye win

Fasil Kenema will be expected to increase their lead at the top of the Betking Ethiopia Premier League when they take on Wolaitta Dicha looking to capitalise on the failures of both St George and Ethiopia Coffee, while Jimma Aba Jifar will hope to get some relegation relief against Dire Dawa.

Jimma Aba Jifar are the home team in this fixture but are in fact the away team because all the fixtures are held at the Dire Dawa Stadium.

Both sides are in the bottom four and a loss for Dire Dawa will drag them into the relegation zone proper because although they are three points above Jimar Aba Jifar, and six ahead of bottom club Adama Kenema, a loss could prove costly as Sidama Coffee and Jimma could tie or surpass them and, who knows, an Adama win could cut the deficit to just three points.

WOLAITA DICHA V FASIL KENEMA

Wolaitta Dicha are in sixth position with 21 points, but 17 points behind the leaders Fasil who look unstoppable, so this will be a huge battle for them to try and contain Mujib Kassim, Fasil’s goal machine.

The results of both St George who were held to a goalless draw in a keenly contested tie at Dire Dawa and Ethiopia Coffee's loss to Hawassa could be a sign of the effects of the long break, so we will see if Fasil suffer any hangovers, but they now know they will go 11 points clear at the top with a win.
