Arrows maintain lead in MTN Super League

Saddam Phiri and Michee Malonga scored second half goals as leaders Red Arrows eased to a 2-0 victory over struggling Prison Leopards to maintain their three-point advantage at the top of the MTN Super League table.

After being held scoreless at halftime, Phiri gave his side the lead early in the second period before Malonga added a second late on.

ZESCO United maintained the pressure on Arrows as they won 1-0 away at Green Buffaloes, who suffered a first home defeat of the campaign.

Collins Sikombe scored the only goal of the game just after the half-hour mark and they were able to hold on for the win.

Defending champions Power Dynamos are in third, five points off the top of the table, and they claimed a 1-0 win at Kansanshi Dynamos. Andy Boyeli scored the only goal just after the break.

Nkana FC climbed all the way to 11th with a third win in four games (D1) as they defeated Mufulira Wanderers 2-1.

Tresor Ilunga gave Wanderers the lead, but Idriss Mbombo and Jacob Ngulube turned the game on its head before halftime.

Biston Banda scored a minute from the end as Biston Banda secured a 1-0 win for FC MUZA against bottom side Trident FC.

Kabwe Warriors beat Konkola Blades 1-0 thanks to Timothy Sakala early winner, while ZANACO and Nkwazi played to a 1-1 draw.

Charles Zulu opened the scoring for ZANACO, but Mathews Mashimikolo equalized just past the half-hour mark for the visitors.
