Nkana FC continued their bid for MTN Super League survival this season with a 2-0 victory over Buildcon on Saturday, though they remain in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Nkana (-8 goal-difference) are level with Indeni (-3) on 41 points and would need to better the result of the latter to move above them in the final round of games. They could potentially also move above Young Green Eagles, who have 42 points but also a game in hand.

Midfielder Alex Ngonga scored a brace for Nkana to continue his good recent form, netting in each half to go with the goal he also scored in the 1-1 midweek draw against Zanaco.

Nkana face fellows strugglers Napsa Stars in their final fixture on 27 June, which could yet be a winner-takes-all battle for survival.

Indeni must travel to Kabwe Warriors, who are chasing a place in the Caf club competitions for next year and that will be a tough encounter for them.

Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes stayed in contention for the Caf Confederation Cup positions with a 2-0 win over already-relegated Kitwe United.

Nicholas Mulilo scored a first-half brace for Buffaloes, who are now just a single point behind Lusaka Dynamos, who occupy fourth place and the last of those qualification positions.

They will be pleased to be going into the final round of matches with something to play for.
