All set for Plate final Soweto derby in the DStv Champ of Champs

The Plate semifinals, of the DStv eKasi Champion of Champs, had moved to the Moletsane sports complex in Soweto, with all Soweto teams playing on the day, a crowd of more than 5000 people turned up.

 

The lunchtime kick-off saw Orlando-based team, Black Poison face Limpopo side Ramatlaohle, it was a game of two halves as the Soweto side booked their place in the Plate cup final for next Sunday at the Dobsonville stadium, as Black Poison won the game 3-2

Up next, was the turn of the other Soweto sides in the 3 pm kick-off, as Soweto Super United (SSU) took on North-west side Ramokokastad United FC in a pulsating game of 90 minutes, SSU went into the halftime break leading 2-0. Four more goals were scored in the second half, to hand SSU a record 6-0 win

This becomes the heaviest defeat of any side in the competition, since the start of the tournament in 2022, Free Agents had scored 5 goals in a previous encounter.

It will be another Soweto derby in the finals of the Plate cup as Soweto Super United take on Black Poison on Sunday the 2nd of July at the Dobsonville stadium, with a lunchtime kick-off

Meanwhile, Ramatloahle and Ramokokastad will play in the 7/8th play-off match on Saturday 1st of July and you can catch all the action live on Supersport channels 202 and 209.
