The DStv eKasi Champion of Champs tournament comes to an end this weekend at the Dobsonville stadium as Phaphama FC and Swidi Wodwa clash for what promises to be an exciting final. The winners this year will replace Tshwane side Chego FC who were crowned champions last year after they beat Soweto side Chipolopolo 3-2 in the finals. Both sides will have a chance to walk away with the prize money of R250 000 on Sunday at the final whistle.

On the same day, the Plate final between Rhulani Mokwena’s Black Poison and Soweto Super United will kick off at 1 pm. The winners of that encounter will be guaranteed to go home with an amount of R75 000.

ROAD TO THE FINALS

Phaphama and Swidi have already met in a final group stage game in an encounter that saw the Mpumalanga-based side Phaphama come away with a 2-0 victory against their Orange Farm rivals Swidi Wodwa.

It’s a similar situation in the Plate finals where both Soweto teams Black Poison and Super United also met at the group stages in a game that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Saturday 1 July will also see football return to the Moletsane sports complex as teams that were knocked out during the Cup and plate semifinals come up against each other. Free Agents FC will meet Covid-19 FC for a 5th and 6th placed spot in a repeat of the opening game of the tournament. Covid-19 FC won that game 3-1.

Ramatloahle and Ramokokastad will play against each other in a 7th and 8th placed play-off match on the same day. You can catch all the action live on SuperSport channels 202 and 209.
