The 2020/21 BetKing Ethiopian Premier League week 3 games will get underway starting on Wednesday 23rd of December in Addis Ababa Stadium. Hadiya Hossana hopes to maintain their perfect start as most of the top teams that dropped points will be eying a return to winning ways.

Saint George Vs Hawassa Ketema

This fixture is well known for many reasons. One of them being some of the talents that took Saint George by storm in recent times had been products of the two times Ethiopian champions Hawassa Ketema. Saint George come to this encounter having beaten Dire Dawa Ketema 3-1 while Hawassa Ketema lost their league opener to Sebeta Ketema.

Saint George coach Maahier Davids knows his charges need to adapt to a new system but their potent striking force will create havoc to the disorganised Hawassa Ketema defensive line. Hawassa Ketema boosts a squad with young players like Biruk Beyene and Mesfin Tafese but the duo might have to challenge the Saint George midfield and defensive line which will by itself will be hard for the visitors to gain points.

Ethiopian Coffee Vs Dire Dawa Ketema

Ethiopian Coffee are in fine form following their resounding 3-1 win over title favourites Fasil Kenema. Dire Dawa Ketema lost to Saint George in round 2. Much can't be said about both sides in terms of competitive balance as the home side is a clear favourite to win the duel.

The sign of maturity that striker Abubakher Nessero has shown in recent times and the tactical mastermind of head coach Kassaye Arage will have a big impact on Coffee. Dire Dawa has been below par when it comes to attacking proficiency. Their worst nightmare will be not converting scoring chances. Coffee will be without defender Temesgen Castro as he was red carded in the last round. The Easterners will be missing Frezer Kassa through injury.

Jimma Aba Jifar Vs Fasil Kenema

It was not a good second round for both sides; nevertheless, Jimma Aba Jifar at least shared spoils while sailing through a rough patch. Fasil Kenema will be blaming for losing to 10 men Ethiopian Coffee and they will most definitely try to get back to amassing points. Jimma Aba Jifar's defensive approach won't be changing anytime soon but their real test will commence when they face the likes of Mujib Kassim, Surafel Dagnachew, Shemkit Gugesa and Bezabeh Meleyo. The Emperors don't have any injury concerns ahead of the crucial clash.

Wolaitta Dicha Vs Wolkite Ketema

This game could be a fairly balanced game. Wolaitta Dicha came to the tie having won against Adama Ketema. Wolkite Ketema were held to a barren draw by Jimma Aba Jifar. The Sodo based club showed attacking proficiency, solid midfield and defensive partnership in the Adama game. The partnership of Sintayehu Mengistu and Endris Seid will be key for Dicha. The arrival of goal Seid Habtamu has been a blessing in disguise following a powerful performance against Adama. Wolkite Ketema will be worried of their misfiring attacking line. If they can bury the opportunities they get, then it will be very difficult for the home side to get back to the game.

Bahir Dar Ketema Vs Adama Ketema

The fixture has not been good to the away aside as they yet again face off a strong league side in the form of Bahir Dar Ketema. The Waves of Tana unexpectedly lost to Hadiya Hossana in the previous round. The same fate happened to Adama Ketema as they lost to Wolaitta Dicha.

Bahir Dar coach Fasil Tekalegn will be eyeing the attacking trio Fistum Alemu, Baye Gezaghen and Minyelu Wendimu to start producing goals. Adama Ketema's narrow squad depth will probably hold them back. Adama Ketema's veteran and captain Suleiman Mohammed is a doubt for the game.

Sidama Bunna Vs Hadiya Hossana

Another South Ethiopian derby in space of two weeks for Hadiya Hossana. Sidama Bunna look to bounce back from their first round set back by defeating Hadiya Hossana. Hossana maintains a perfect record with two wins thus far.

However, they will miss talisman Dawa Hotessa through suspension creating a hole in their attacking line. Sidama Bunna will be hoping Kenyan Sunday Mutuku to make a quick recovery so that they can boost a good back line that looked below par when they played Bahir Dar Ketema.
