BetKing Ethiopia Premier league leaders, Fasil Kenema have gone seven points clear with a win away to Hawassa Kenema.

The Gondar-based outfit have been propelled by the goalscoring prowess of star striker Mujib Kassim, and today needed Bereket Desta and Amsalu Telahun, who scored the two goals

Hawassa were the first to show their intent early in the game when they forced a corner, but Fasil's Mickel Samake in goal pulled off a great save when he parried the dangerous swing.

Bereket Desta shot Fasil into the lead in the sixth minute, much to the delight of his coach, Seyoum Kabede. It took almost half an hour before Fasil's top scorer, Mujib Kassim got a sniff of the Hawassa goal, but his shot went over the bar.

The second goal for Fasil was a beauty, as Amsalu Telahun snaked his way to the edge of the Hawassa box on the left and unleashed an unstoppable rising shot into the top right corner, away from the reach of Hawassa's Togolese goalkeeper Mensah Nsouhoho

Shekemet Gugsa was a thorn in the flesh for Fasil all afternoon with two shots on target, but it was Ephrem Ashamo who shone like a thousand stars down the right wing for Hawassa Ketema.

Ashamo provided the ammunition for Hawassa as they pulled one back in the 71st minute through Wondmagegn Hailu from close range after great footwork and an accurate cross from Ashamo.

The last chance of the game fell to Mujib, who failed to convert after he dummied keeper Nsouhoho.
