Mujib Kassim has made a sensational transfer from Hawassa Kenema to Bahir Dar City in what must be considered a major coup for the "Waves of Tana."

The striker didn't seem to enjoy his time with Hawassa due to perceived differences with Hawassa coach Kenema Zeray Mulu.

There were some harsh words which came from both sides as the player decided to leave at last.

Kassim played only seven matches and he didn't score a single goal which is poor by his very high standards.

Now he joined the "Tana Waves" who have enjoyed the productivity of their star striker, Habtamu Tadesse, who has scored five league goals this season.

It's expected that there will be a competition between Kassim and Tadesse to get or keep a place in the starting line-up but perhaps they will form a deadly partnership.

Kassim's presence will be a major boost for Degeareg Yigzaw as he lost another key player in attack with the departure of Duressa Shubisa (due to a personal issue). Adam Abas is also out injured and Fitsum Tilahun is facing disciplinary action.

Kassim has played for Hawassa City (twice), Adama City and Fasil Kenema, with whom he won the League in the 2020/21 season.

He looks set to play in his first match for Bahir Dar City in the first fixture of Week 16 on Thursday.
