Leaders Zanaco were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Green Eagles on Saturday as they failed to take the chance to move clear at the top of the Zambia Super League table.

Zanaco had to scramble a draw as Amity Shamende put Eagles ahead in the first half, but Rodgers Kola continued his excellent scoring form with an equaliser just past the hour-mark.

It leaves the home side two points ahead of second-placed Zesco United, but having played two games more with their rivals in action on Sunday away at Forest Rangers.

Lusaka Dynamos could have moved joint top of the league but they slipped to a 1-0 loss at NAPSA Stars, who appear to be finally finding their form this season.

Emmanuel Mayuka scored the only goal of the game with 20 minutes remaining to give Stars back-to-back wins and stretch their unbeaten run to four games.

Power Dynamos handed defending champions Nkana FC a 3-0 home defeat in arguably the surprise result of the weekend.

Mukuka Mulenga put the visitors ahead after just five minutes, before Spencer Sautu and Kennedy Musonda grabbed further goals in each half. Nkana remain just two points above the drop-zone.

Kabwe Warriors and Nkwazi played to a 0-0 draw, a result that helps neither side. For Kabwe it is their third draw in their last four games, but they are now unbeaten in six as they hang in grimly in the title race.

There was also one game on Friday as Red Arrows claimed a 2-0 win away at bottom side Kitwe United.

Veteran forward James Chamanga netted in the second half after Paul Katema had scored the opener for Arrows, who have looked much sharper in recent weeks.
