Champions Zesco United continued their poor form with another Zambia Super League loss after they were downed 3-0 by Zanaco on Sunday.

Zesco have now lost their last three league matches, and have just a single win in six games. They trail leaders Green Eagles by five points, but do have three games in hand, though on current form that counts for little.

Rodgers Kola grabbed a brace for Zanaco and Chitiya Mususu the other as they made it back-to-back wins to ease their relegation worries.

Leaders Green Eagles claimed a 1-0 win away at Kabwe Warriors thanks to a goal from Spencer Sautu.

It is a fourth win in a row for the side, who were runners-up in last year’s championship final when they lost on penalties to Zesco, but will now feel they can make up for that disappointment having gained the initiative in the title race.

Second-placed Napsa Stars claimed an emphatic 4-0 victory over bottom side Mufulira Wanderers, their first win in four games.

Tapson Kaseba scored a brace for Stars on debut, with further goals from Collins Sikombe and Doisy Soko.

Nkana drop to third after they were held to a 2-2 draw by mid-table Green Buffaloes.

Nkana opened the scoring through a Martin Dzillah penalty, but then needed a last-minute equaliser via Ghana defender Richard Ocran. In between, Leonard Mulenga and Friday Samu netted for Buffaloes.

Forest Rangers and Nkwazi also played to a 2-2 draw as Zikiru Adams and Lameck Silwaba netted for them, but they were pegged back via an own goal from Webster Muzaza and a strike from Eric Chomba.

Veteran striker James Chamanga netted a brace for Red Arrows as they claimed a 2-1 away win over Nakambala Leopards, for who Junior Zulu was on target.

Chanda Mushili scored a late double to help Buildcon beat KYSA 2-0, while Power Dynamos' excellent recent run was halted following a 0-0 draw with Kansanshi Dynamos.

Finally, Lusaka Dynamos claimed a 1-0 win at Lumwana Radiants thanks to a first-minute winner from Baba Basile.
