Defending champions Red Arrows scored two goals in the final 16 minutes to defeat league leaders ZESCO United 2-0 in the MTN Super League on Sunday.

Michee Malonga got the opener before Angel Lubamba scored the insurance goal late on to give Arrows a much-needed three points and inflict a first defeat of the campaign on ZESCO.

The result moves Arrows up to sixth with 11 points, five behind ZESCO, though they have played a game fewer.

It has been a slow start to the campaign for Arrows, but they will hope this result kick-starts them into gear as they try to defend their title.

Forest Rangers maintained their unbeaten start with a 2-1 home win over Lumwana Radiants. They are now in fifth, also five points behind ZESCO.

Tobias Chungu and Quadri Kola got their goals as they snapped a five-game drawing run to record a second victory of the game.
