Mutondo Stars stunned defending champions Red Arrows in the MTN Super League on Sunday, while there was a victory for leaders ZESCO Stars as they maintained their five-point lead at the top of the table.

A brace from Titus Chansa and a further strike from Lameck Kafwaya gave Stars the shock win, while Arrows had to settle for a late consolation from Alassane Diarra as they lost for the first time this campaign.

ZESCO defeated 20-man Mufulira wanderers 2-0 to keep up their early season promise.

Hiver Amine gave them the lead midway through the first half before Peter Musukuma added a second with 15 minutes remaining. The day got worse for the visitors when Francis Simunika was sent off late on.

Nkana FC lost 2-1 away at Atletico Lusaka in another surprise result on Sunday.

Francis Mutalange put Atletico ahead from the penalty-spot but Charles Zulu equalised for Nkana.

Moses Simpasa then found a winner five minutes from the end to secure victory for the home side.

FC MUZA and Zanaco played to a 2-2 draw in a seesaw contest in which the home side took the lead via Biston Banda, only for Zanaco to rally and claim a 2-1 advantage after Chawanangwa Kaonga and Lambert Araina found the back of the net.

But that lead lasted only two minutes before Kondwani Mhango scored for MUZA to secure a point for his side.

NAPSA Stars thumped Nchanga Rangers 3-0 via first half goals from Evans Kayombo and Simon Nkhata, and a late strike from Jimmy Mukeya.

The victory moved Stars up to seventh while for Rangers that is now back-to-back losses as their early season promise dissipates.
