Power Dynamos have made a winning start to the new 2024-25 MTN Super League season in Zambia with a 2-1 success against Mufulira Wanderers on Saturday.

Fredrick Mulambia and debutant Brian Masaninga scored for Dynamos, who then conceded late on to John Chilangwa but managed to hold on for the victory.

Nkana FC were held to a goalless draw at home by Lumwana Radiants in a slow start to the season for them, but Nkwazi picked up a 2-0 success at home to Mutondo Stars.

Christopher Zulu scored both their goals, the first of which was a penalty.

Zanaco were 2-0 winners over Indeni as Christopher Muhango and Lambert Araima found the back of the net.

Forest Rangers romped to a 3-1 victory over newly-promoted Athletico Lusaka with Quadri Kola, Tiki Chiluba and Hope Katwishi on target for the hosts. Benjamin Chisala scored a late consolation for the visitors.

Green Eagles and Kabwe Warriors drew 1-1 after Sydney Lunda had put the latter ahead, only for Ernest Mbewe to equalise midway through the second half.

Champions Red Arrows are not in action this weekend as they have a Caf Champions League tie against Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets, while last season’s runners-up Zesco United are in the Caf Confederation Cup and play Zimbabwe’s Dynamos.
